EPFL Big Band is recruiting!

We are looking for the following:

Bassist (acoustic or electric)
Alto or tenor saxophonists
Trumpeters
Trombonists (or bass trombonists)

The Big Band rehearses every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:45 PM, in ELD 020.

About the Big Band

Established in March 2018, the EPFL Big Band is a jazz-infused orchestra of about 20 students from Bachelor to PhD, as well as employees from both university campuses. Our goal is to complete the vast choice of musical ensembles, and to promote and encourage listening and practicing this type of music — on-campus, and outside its borders.

Thanks to the diligent weekly work of the musicians under the direction of 1st trumpeter Johannes Waibel, the formation has gained momentum and widened its repertoire to many jazz standards like George Gershwin, classics such as Count Basie, or even dancing and swinging rhythms of Brazilian Samba. Today, the band is directed by Samuel Urscheler.
